Welcome to Biol 444

Greetings,
We are excited to get started with a great quarter of ornithology! We will be starting up field work this week, so be sure to check out a pair of binoculars (if you don't have your own) and get your copies of Sibley's Western Field Guide. http://www.amazon.com/Sibley-Field-Guide-Western-America/dp/0679451218

Here are two species I saw on the Ho River, Olympic Peninsula, WA. We will be taking a trip to Oly later this quarter -  so get pumped. Can you identify these species? I'll post the names later...
Big Bird.

Lil' Bird.

  1. I hope you're asking for an ID here.

Everyone aught to know the Big Bird, at least every United States Citizen. The Lil' fella looks like a Black-capped Chickadee (...dee dee).
